Mt. Ashwabay x Camp Benesi

The Thunderbird Warrior Challenge is an outdoor obstacle adventure set on the scenic trails and ski hill at Mt. Ashwabay. Designed for a range of ages and ability levels, this event combines trail running with a series of physical and team-based challenges that test strength, endurance, coordination, and problem-solving.

Participants will navigate wooded terrain, rolling hills, and ski slopes while completing obstacles along the course. With both individual and team divisions, the event welcomes competitive athletes, families, youth groups, and anyone looking to take on a meaningful outdoor challenge in the Northwoods.

This event is presented in partnership with Camp Benesi, a non-profit recreational retreat serving veterans and Gold Star families who are grieving loss or navigating the effects of military service. Camp Benesi provides a safe, peaceful environment where guests can enjoy outdoor activities, connect with others who share similar experiences, and find support in community. Lodging, meals, and activities are offered at no cost to the families they serve.
